Russ Olsen Chief Executive Officer
Russ Olsen is responsible for the overall strategic and operational direction of the company. He has worked with Stein Eriksen Lodge for 31 years, and implemented training, procedures, and standards that contribute to consistent, impeccable service, resulting in Stein Eriksen Lodge becoming the first Forbes Five-Star hotel in Utah. Olsen’s leadership has been recognized throughout the hospitality industry.
Dan Flick Chief Operating Officer
Dan Flick is responsible for overseeing the company’s daily operations and procedures, including designing and implementing business operations, and establishing policies that promote Stein Collection’s culture and strategic vision. He has worked to grow and improve Stein Collection for 19 years. Flick’s excellent people skills, business acumen, and exemplary work ethic have driven extensive and sustainable growth across all four properties.
Stein Collection is dedicated to honoring the Forbes standards and maintaining our culture of excellence to create an unforgettable guest experience. Our legacy began with the completion of the first luxury lodging establishment in Deer Valley, the iconic Stein Eriksen Lodge. Thirty-five years later, Stein Collection has grown to include three additional luxury properties, The Chateaux Deer Valley, The Residences at The Chateaux Deer Valley, and the new Stein Eriksen Residences. All team members across all properties are trained in the same intensive Stein Way training in order to guarantee consistent high standards and service throughout our Collection.
As a long-established icon and ever-growing brand, Stein Collection employs hundreds of hard working, diverse, and exceptional team members year-round. We provide housing for a significant number of our employees, and strive to cultivate a rewarding culture of respect and integrity. We have incredible tenure amongst all of our teams. More than 20 team members have been with us for 10 or more years. We attribute staff loyalty to the positive and respectful company culture our executive team fosters. Food & Beverage
Our expert culinary team blends classic time-honored tradition with environmentally-minded strategies. Our Vice President of Food and Beverage Operations and Corporate Chef strives to take an innovative, resourceful, and forward-thinking approach to our daily practices across all four luxury dining establishments. We balance the expectations of our high-end clientele with a socially conscious and planned manner, maintaining these philosophies while providing a luxury dining experience.
The Stein Collection accounting and financial professionals provide owners and developers with punctual monthly and annual financial reports and payments. In addition, our relationships with CPAs, attorneys, insurance brokers, and other professionals provide all property management services. Our goal is to give peace of mind in owning or developing vacation properties, and to give the highest services and best returns on investments.
Sales & Marketing
The Stein Collection approach to direct sales combines friendly sales calls with third-party lead generation relationships to expand our networking abilities by market segment. Our team works closely with each hotel to develop, implement, and monitor property-specific action plans which include direct sales, familiarization trips, and marketing initiatives, all designed to leverage the strength of the brand and the specific niches held by any one hotel. We have success in targeting specific opportunities for revenue growth and index penetration by identifying these demand times early. Park City is home to over 100 diverse nonprofits that work tirelessly to benefit the people of our town and the greater state of Utah. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be part of such a vibrant, community-oriented town, and consider it our duty to contribute, support, and partake in these extraordinary efforts. Some of the many local charities and organizations we support on an ongoing basis include Youth Sports Alliance, National Ability Center, People’s Health Clinic, Park City Education Foundation, KPCW Radio, Huntsman Cancer Foundation, and the Christian Center Food Bank.
